Eat, Be Merry, AND Be Healthy with Boulet PT and Wellness!

With less than 45 days until Christmas, the holiday season has quickly sprung upon us. With the holidays come all of the holiday parties, and those parties bring mounds of holiday food. Prepare for all of the holiday eating by eating clean leading up to the yearly parties on your calendar. This way, you won't have to feel as guilty about the second piece of figgy pudding you indulge in.

Clean eating is not a diet. It is a healthy lifestyle that fuels the body with nutrients and promotes weight loss. People are often afraid to try clean eating because they think they will have to buy certain foods or will be limited. On the contrary, it's simply about making smarter, healthier decisions when it comes to the foods you buy. A key to eating clean is to buy organic foods. Organic foods are produced by organic farming and do not use any irradiation, industrial solvents, or synthetic food additives. Have no fear, though! Several stores around Lafayette are great options to help eat clean and offer organic foods.

Make eating clean easier on you by shopping at these stores:

  • Fresh Pickin's Produce Market
  • Fresh Market
  • Whole Foods
  • Drug Emporium (Gluten-free and vegetarian friendly)
  • Sandra's Health Food Store

Local farmer's markets are other great options to look into:

  • Hub City Farmers Market in the Oil Center -
      Saturdays, 8am - 12pm
  • Lafayette Farmers & Artisans Market at the Horse Farm -
      Saturdays from 8am - 12pm
Wednesdays 4pm - 7pm through November at Park Sans Souci

Worried about how you will keep up with eating healthy at restaurants? There are plenty restaurants in town that have organic, vegetarian, and gluten-free options. Here are just a few:

  • Cedar Deli Grocery
  • Sandra's Health Food Store
  • Dark Roux.
  • The Saint Street Inn
  • Rachael's Cafe
