Recap of Pink Ribbon Days with Spa Mizan

Spa Mizan, an Aveda Salon and Spa, is celebrating National Breast Cancer Awareness month by raising money to donate to the Breast Center of Acadiana Foundation. Proceeds for this donation are the result of an employee bake sale, Pink Balloon donations and the Pink Ribbon Days that took place on October 16th and 17th. Because of the overwhelming support we recieved, this donation has already surpassed $3,000!
The raffle for a ‘Day at the Spa’ will be open until the end of the month. For just $10 per ticket this $315 value could be yours. You still have time to enter to win! Spa Mizan, an Aveda Salon and Spa, wishes to thank everyone who took part in the Pink Ribbon Days and helped to make this wonderful donation for the Breast Center of Acadiana Foundation.

EatLafayette Presents: Homecoming and Halloween Hacks!

With UL Homecoming AND Halloween coming up this weekend, those of us residing in Cajun Nation have a lot on our plates. Do you trick-or-treat then tailgate? Or do you catch the game then head out to a costume party? Here's an idea: trick-or-treat at the tailgating event before the big game! UL has announced that Saturday's tailgating will include trick-or-treating from 1-3 p.m. Children are encouraged to wear their costumes and tailgaters are encouraged to bring candy to pass out. There is even going to be a competition amongst tailgaters for the best decorated area!
There are a lot of great options for the weekend, so EatLafayette wants to help you get the agenda straight. Let us present to you the EatLafayette Homecoming and Halloween Hacks!

Hack #1: Tailgating Food AND Party Food

No matter which occasion you are particularly swaying to this weekend, the party foods and beverages are one in the same. Just on the strip of Bertrand across from Cajun Field are plenty of conveniently located choices! If you’re tailgating this weekend, save yourself some time and trouble by grabbing a Catering Tray from Joey’s and Margaritas by the gallon from Agave Cantina. Hosting a Halloween get together instead? Feed all of those mouths with DeanO’s Pizzas or maybe grab some Famous Café Habana City Mojitos to serve to your party guests. Best part of this hack: all of these options work for either event! No matter what you choose, you’ve still got yourself a good time.

Hack #2: No Tricks, Just TREATS

For this Halloween Hack, we’re giving you the intel on the tastiest Halloween treats in town. For starters, Sophi P’s fall cupcakes are a must-try of the season! Our favorite? The Drunkin’ Punkin’ which is spiced pumpkin cake, filled and topped with a spiced rum buttercream. For the full fall menu and to order a few for your party, click here.
Indulge Desserts is also getting festive this year. Just look at the picture below! From Pumpkin Pie Lattes made with Reve Coffee to Graveyard Cupcakes, Indulge has treats for everyone in the family! To check out their full menu and contact them about your special order, click here.

Hack #3: The All-in-One Deal

Maybe you want to watch the game, trick-or-treat AND EatLafayette all at the same time. Rochetto’s Pizzeriais your Homecoming / Halloween solution! Located in Scott, next to I-10, Rochetto’s Pizzeria will have the football game on every TV in the house. The employees are also known for dressing up each Halloween and handing out candy to all of the kiddos that dine in. Interested? Click here to see the full menu.

Jefferson Street Pub is also hosting a Halloween / Homecoming after party this year! With the game on the TVs, an awesome costume contest, and drink specials limited to this night only, JSP is a great way to get the best of both worlds! Check out the details below.
It may be a busy holiday weekend, but using these EatLafayette hacks are easy ways to ensure that you truly enjoy yourself throughout all of the festivities!

ShopLafayette's Outfits for Fall

Fall fashion is all about scarves and boots. All of which you can find in a ShopLafayette™ boutique! To prove
it to you,ShopLafayette™ has put together five outfits for different situations using items only from local shops.
The first outfit is for the days you just don’t have the energy to build a look from head to toe. This Bali Jumpsuit fromJewelie’s Boutique conveniently takes care of a top and bottom. Now, let’s effortlessly complete
this great look. These booties in wine from Bevo’s are easy to slip on and even easier to rock since they only
have a slight heel. Next, add a basic coat from Bella Dia Boutique for the fall weather. *Note: This step is optional,
as the weather hasn’t gotten the memo to cool down. Finally, accessorize by throwing on a scarf from Vertage Clothing
and topping it off with a floppy hatfrom shopthreelittlebirds. Voila!

The next outfit was inspired by your everyday pursuit. Between school, work, errands, and everything in between,
you deserve something simple that just looks good. From JuJu’s Boutique, pick this blue, loose-fitting, basic top paired withjeans from Herringstone’s Two Sisters’ Boutique. The booties from Shi Shi Boutique have a chunkier heel, so whether you’re walking around campus or the office, you definitely won’t be aching all day. Lastly, the olive jacket from Bella Dia Boutique is for the cooler days and the scarf from Knotting Hill is to tie it all together.

Who’s ready for a girl’s night out? With this outfit, you will be. Start by building this look with jeggings from
Bella Dia Boutique. This particular pair appears to be leather, but is actually wax-coated denim. Pair them with a flannel fromshopthreelittlebirds to achieve an edgy look. Add the criss cross cami from 7 Chics Boutique for
your love of the little details! Finally, slip into these wedge booties from Herringstone’s Two Sisters’ Boutique
and head out to dance the night away with your ladies!
This fourth outfit will work for a nice dinner out, a date night, or even as work wear! The polka dot dress from
7 Chics Boutique will have you IN LOVE and it will definitely have the same effect on your date. Keep the look
classy and simple with pearl earrings from Maven Womenswear. They are the perfect switch up of a traditional
piece. Speaking of straying away from the traditional, throw a color pop in your style with a pair of red pumps from Shoe La La. And with that pop, you’re ready for a night out on the town!
ShopLafayette™ is male-friendly, too! The last outfit is for you guys around town. Keep it simple (yet trendy) with
t-shirt and jeans from a couple of our Lafayette clothing stores.  Parish Ink has a great selection of unique
graphic tees, and they’re especially fun if you pair them with colored jeans like these wine ones from
Maven Menswear! Interested in dressing this outfit up a bit? Grab a button down from Brother’s on the Boulevard
and a cashmere sweater from F Camalo. Either way, you’re going to need some fresh kicks. Let the experts at
Sneaker Politics help you step into a name brand you love that complements your look for the evening.
Don’t forget to accessorize ANY of these outfits as you please. Renaissance Market & Brasserie has a huge
selection of accessories to help you out!

With the help of our ShopLafayette™ boutiques, you can make these looks your own! Tag ShopLafayette™ in your Instagram photos at @shoplafayette, so you can show how you made fall style, your style

Tips for Running at Night

Tips for Running at Night

Daylight Savings Time ends on November 1st this year, and Tri-Running Lafayettewants you to be prepared for the upcoming changes. On that first Sunday of November, we will turn our clocks back and sunrise and sunset will be one hour earlier than the day before. What does this mean for avid runners?

It means that we need to stay safe.

The best choice is to move your run to the now lighter morning hours. This is not plausible for everyone, though, so we've compiled a few safety tips for running in the dark. First, you need to take your route itself into consideration. In well-lit hours, a long scenic route is probably desired, but this would be inappropriate for a night run. It is best to map out a short route that is close to home. It needs to be an area that your are very comfortable in and one that your family is well aware of in the event of an emergency.

It means that we need the right gear.

When it comes to running in the dark, the right gear can protect you from harm and maybe even save your life. Passing vehicles and other onlookers NEED to be able to see you. That's why it is necessary to wear clothing and lights that call attention to yourself. The Brooks Running Vest pictured below is bright and reflective, making it a great option. This vest, an array of other neon clothes and accessories, and the flashing light selection below, are all in stock now!

It means that we need the right motivation.

After a long day at work, it's hard enough already to get out there and go run. Throw the darkness and the accompanying temperature changes into the mix, and a lot of runners fall out of their workout routines. Don't allow the winter to halt your progress!

Stay focused.
Be prepared.
Tri-Running.

Did you know?
Running shoes should be changed out every 300-500 miles. Even though they may still look new on the outside, they are losing support on the inside!

DON'T REMEMBER YOUR TYPE OF SHOE?

Don't worry...we've kept those records for you!

Agave Presents: Family-Friendly Events This Weekend

Families LOVE Agave
At Agave, we've worked hard to acquire the stamp of family approval, and we take pride in the support we have from families across Lafayette! We've spent countless hours creating a kid-friendly atmosphere and developing a menu that pleases the tastebuds of both young and old. After years of being in the business, we've learned that this city's love for Agave is because of three things:

2. Fathers love Fajitas
3. Kids love Queso

It's that simple.
